National Service Scheme

National Service Scheme, the scheme was launched in Mahathma Gandhi Centenary year, 1969. Student’s personality through community service is the aim of NSS and the motto is NOT ME BUT YOU. The cardinal principle of the NSS program is that it is organized by the students themselves, and both students and teachers through their combined participation in community service, get a sense of involvement in the tasks of nation building. It gives opportunity to students to interact with society, teaches dignity of labour, develops personality, enhance cultural and artistic talents. The college has two units, unit 191 & 602. Unit 191 of MESCE was started in 1998 in the aided scheme and later on Unit 602 was started in 2015 in the SFU scheme and have 100 volunteers each. Both the units are affiliated to APJ ABDUL KALAM TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY NSS CELL. The Programme Co-ordinator will appoint Programme Officers for each unit in the Colleges, forwarded by the Principal. Dr. Suneesh P U and Mr. Aneesh M Haneef are currently working with the units as the PO’s both have completed ETA training by NSS state Cell.

  • Special appreciation for blood donation.

  • Appreciation for successfully coordinating “NSS Golden Jubilee Bhavanam” at Edappal Vallyad Laksham Veedu Colony. ( Reconstruction of 12 houses).

  • Appreciation for Post Flood Rehabilitation.

  • Dr. Suneesh P U was appointed as the Kerala Contingent leader for 2021 Republic Day Parade Camp at Delhi.

  • Dr. Suneesh P U been appointed as the regional coordinator of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University NSS Cell.

  • Conducted state level awareness camp on COVID 19 and significance of Ayurveda

  • NSS volunteer Mr. Ashiq K won third prize in the state level project presentation conducted by NSS cell.

  • Coordinated and conducted regional level (north zone) Mega Cleaning Drive (Swachh Action Plan) at Kuttippuram jointly with MGM College of Technology and Pharmaceutical Science, Valanchery.

  • Appreciation from Ponnani Municipality for donation of 2 lakhs for dialysis Machine.
