Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineers don’t rely on miracles, they make them happen. Aeroplanes to energy-efficient cars focusing on new resources to meet the demands of our times are at the forefront of innovations. The Department of Mechanical Engineering introduces students to various areas of the field including kinematics, thermodynamics, manufacturing, solid mechanics, materials, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and dynamics control. It is a profession in which study in mathematics and science is blended with experience and judgment for the production of valuable things. The Mechanical Engineering course of MESCE is affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala. The department was established in 1994 with an intake of 60 students in the undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering and a postgraduate program in 'Thermal Systems with an intake of 18 students in the year 2006. The department currently has an intake of 60 students in the UG program. The program also entertains a lateral entry in UG for diploma holders as per AICTE norms in the third semester. The Department has well-equipped laboratories and computing facilities, with the latest technology and syllabus requirements. The department faculty rooms and the laboratories are connected by the institute LAN linking with all other departments and the Internet world outside. The department is headed by Prof.John Paul. Well-qualified faculty and skilled supporting staff are the other strengths of the department.
